Why teams use Nodown with Microsoft Teams

Connect Nodown to Microsoft Teams using an Incoming Webhook connector. Your team gets downtime and recovery alerts in the channel they already work in — no context switching required.

No admin approval required

Teams channel owners can create Incoming Webhooks without needing IT or admin approval. Any channel member with manage permissions can set it up.

Alert in existing channels

Post directly to the channel your engineering or ops team already monitors. No new tool adoption, no separate dashboard to check.

Recovery notifications

Nodown sends a recovery message when the monitor comes back online, including total downtime duration for incident tracking.

Works with Teams free

Incoming Webhooks are available on Microsoft Teams free and paid plans. No Microsoft 365 subscription required for basic alert delivery.

How to connect Microsoft Teams to Nodown

Set up takes about 2 minutes. No code required.

  1. 1

Create an Incoming Webhook in Teams

In Microsoft Teams, right-click the channel you want alerts in and select Manage channel → Connectors → Incoming Webhook → Configure. Name it "Nodown" and copy the webhook URL.

  2. 2

    Add the integration in Nodown

Go to Alerting → Integrations → New Integration → Microsoft Teams. Paste the webhook URL, name the integration, and click Test to confirm delivery.

  3. 3

    Assign to your monitors

In each monitor's settings, select the Teams integration under Alert Channels. You can assign the same integration to multiple monitors.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a Microsoft 365 subscription?
No. Incoming Webhooks work on Teams free. However, Microsoft has announced changes to connector functionality for some Teams versions — if webhooks stop working, the Nodown Webhook integration with a custom endpoint is an alternative.
Can I send to multiple Teams channels?
Yes. Create a separate Nodown integration for each Teams channel webhook URL. Each channel requires its own webhook URL from Teams.
What does a Teams alert look like?
Nodown sends a formatted card with the monitor name, failure reason, detection time, and a link to your dashboard. Recovery messages use a green indicator and include total downtime duration.
